Our History
In 1954, Bob Walsh started a self-perform electrical construction and engineering firm. From a $200 dollar investment made on Bob’s kitchen table, Dearborn Companies has evolved into today’s industry-leading heavy-lift and move, rigging, and construction engineering organization, dominating the Chicago-land area and expanding nationally.
Mike Walsh, Bob’s oldest son, currently serves as company president, continuing the family business legacy and has led the company into the heavy-lift arena. Putting himself through college as a union pipefitter in Chicago, Mike has led the company in this new era and into national expansion. His son Brian, Dearborn’s Vice President of Operations and a project manager, continues the legacy as the third generation of the Walsh family in the company and the fourth generation in engineering and construction.
